“Trace back your family tree”

Family Historian is a new kind of family tree program with a new and different design philosophy. It has a stylish 21st Century user interface, and incorporates a number of unique features. Diagrams (including the unique ‘All Relatives’ diagram) are tightly integrated and used for browsing, editing, and exploring as well as for printing wall charts.

Most programs let you link individuals to multiple pictures. Only Family Historian also lets you link each picture to all the people in them. It even lets you link people to their faces within a picture, without having to crop. Pictures (and/or faces within pictures) can be displayed in diagrams and reports.

Family Historian has a powerful query engine that lets you analyse your data and print the results, save them to a file, or copy them to another program (e.g. a spreadsheet). It also has unrivalled support for merge/compare. Only Family Historian allows you to merge/compare entire files, whole branches within a file, or pairs of individual records – while giving you complete control over the merge process.

Limitations:

Any changes you make to either your own family tree data, or to the Tutorial files, cannot be saved from one session to the next
You cannot print out diagrams or reports, save diagrams to a file, save the results of queries to a file, or transfer data to other programs
You cannot use the Internet Search Tool to search the Internet, and you cannot create websites or Family Tree CDs
A few features (Merge/Compare, Queries, the All Relatives diagram) are further restricted in that they can only be used in files which contain 100 Individual records or fewer
